Protection and Security of your Personal Data

Alpha Automation and Controls takes precautions to protect personal information in its possession from loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. Electronic security measures for our servers provide protection from hacking or other unauthorized access from remote locations.

Supplier, customer and employee personal data is maintained on company servers which protect data that is stored on our drives.

Alpha Automation and Controls has invested in updated robust firewall system to protect access to the servers. This protection measures include:

Alpha Automation and Controls uses the industry-leading Microsoft Exchange Online email services, which includes:

  • Automatic, always-on Security protection from cyber-crime
  • SPAM Filters (100% of known viruses blocked & 99% spam stopped)
  • Encryption at every level

Alpha Automation and Controls limits access to personal data on our servers to the management team members who are aware of their responsibilities to protect the security, confidentiality and integrity of that information.

The Alpha Automation & Controls DCM software uses, a secure, flexible application called Alpha share server. Databases have been configured with areas of documents that are managed. Users are assigned access to each database as appropriate. The Operations Director controls documentation access. Customer may require data to be maintained on isolated drives, with specific access controls defined by them.

As per GDPR requirements Alpha Automation and Controls will notify the Data Protection Commissioner (DPC) of a data security breach within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, unless the risk to rights and freedoms of data subjects (i.e. customer, supplier, employees) is unlikely.

We will continue to review our systems and we will implement additional security features as new technologies become available.

How long we retain Personal Data

We retain personal data for a period of time as long as we need it to fulfil the purposes for which we have initially collected it, unless otherwise required by law.

Any personal data that we collect, process and hold about you is retained only for as long as it is required such as outlined on supplier or customer contractual agreements and statutory and regulatory requirements such as employment law and company act legislations.
